Developing defence applications

CompoTech supports various development projects within the defence sector. Real life applications include All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) bridges and rifle barrels.

Our team of experts work alongside manufacturers to develop a process, test for producing the product, and the customers then finish and sell the part or component.

Telescopic Aerial

CompoTech has developed a composite telescopic mast system for marine and mobile land-based applications. This latest innovation was a catalyst to launch a new venture, Compolift.

The Czech Republic Border Police are using the Compolift – a carbon epoxy, composite self-extending telescopic masts – for mobile surveillance units. The mast extends to a maximum height of 7 metres and provides a steady, rigid operating platform for the 16kg surveillance equipment.

CZ Guns and CompoTech have developed a precision rifle with a composite hybrid core.  The main requirements are stiffness and light weight with efficient heat dispersion to aid shot accuracy. These benefits are combined with other useful features such as durability and drop resistance.

Light Weight Rescue Ladder

Partnering with HQH System P.r.o, CompoTech has developed a complete composite ladder solution called the Ladcarb system. This incredibly versatile kit is required to be stiff enough to allow a person to walk across it as a makeshift bridge, and strong enough to be used while hung vertically.

CompoTech’s Axial Fibre Laying (AFL) technology, together with a unique design, delivers durability, lightweight and maximum performance in bending. The 4.6 m long ladder consists of four segments which can be rapidly dismantled into single parts and packed into a dedicated backpack and assembled on location.

Extensive development and testing has been undertaken in laboratory conditions and by professional users. Due to its structural characteristics, the Ladcarb system was successfully certified in accordance with the EN-BS 1147 standard as a rescue and access ladder for professional use.

To date, the ladder has been used by special forces and civil rescue organisations worldwide.
