A component and machine optimal to your needs.

More widely known for advanced composite component manufacturing, CompoTech has always utilised our own winding technology. Today we offer this as part of a bespoke robot assisted filament laying machine to meet specific customer requirements.

The platform uses a FANUC 6 axis robot with numerous options for part sizes and processed materials. Compatible materials include dry, wet, impregnated fibres and towpreg. Grippers automate tooling loading and unloading.

Based around our in-house winding code, SHNEG 2.0 works in conjunction with the FANUC control to deliver a precise and simple design throughput the manufacturing process and optimal use of materials. This offers total flexibility for the part and composite design.

A key advantage for composite manufacturers is CompoTech’s machine capabilities for axial fibre placement with consolidation, in addition to the advanced winding process such as Integrated Loop Technology (ILT) and beam structures.

PalletX CF epoxy pallets.

Our AFL machine has been programmed to manufacture a new type of carbon fibre epoxy composite pallet.

The PalletX project was commissioned by a leading logistics company, within a wider sustainability initiative. The new pallets are lightweight, supremely high strength and replace existing, much heavier metal pallets to significantly reduce transportation costs and the carbon footprint of future deliveries.

The design of the CF epoxy pallets includes CompoTech’s proprietary axial fibre winding technology and ILT which produces fixture free joints.
