Aerospace

CompoTech continues to meet the evolving technological challenges of the aerospace industry. Our high-performance products enable manufacturers to improve aircraft performance and reduce weight. We are also active in the space sector.

CompoTech produces ailerons, control rods for ultra-light aircraft, seat tubes and helicopter tail booms. The automated process gives high quality components to guarantee structural integrity and aircraft safety.

AERO

Czech aerospace manufacturer, Aero, has launched a trainer jet, the L-39NG. The development project with CompoTech focussed on the structural design and production process of the craft’s aileron. The application also demonstrates huge potential in other aerospace structures.

Composite longitudinal ribs, rather than the traditional bulk heads with a main spar, are applied.  These ribs are connected by a final outer skin layer. The process requires no secondary bonding as it is all cured in one step. This gives the aileron good integrity to withstand pressure loads and makes for a torsional stiff, one-piece structure with excellent fatigue properties.

The entire composite structure is made with CompoTech’s AFL technology with additional vacuum pressing on the surface. The result is an efficient and reliable process requiring minimal manual labour. This innovation was recognised by the JEC Innovation jury as Aerospace category winner in 2019.

EVOCopter

CompoTech supplies the tail boom section of these ultra-light helicopters. These components feature the most advanced carbon fibre winding technologies.
