2020 sees CompoTech celebrating 25 years since the company was formed. In May 1995 the company was officially registered in the Czech Republic. If you are old enough to cast your memory to back then you may remember.

  •  Toy Story was released, the first wholly computer generated movie.
  • The Skoda Felicia started production.
  • Borris Yeltsin was found on Pensilvania Avenue in his underwear.
  • The Macarena became popular.
  • Prague Marathon was established.

CompoTech in 1995 consisted of founders Ondrej Uher and Vitek Sprdlik. It started by producing white water paddle shafts (Both Ondrej and Vitek Competed for the Czech team at the time) on a winding machine developed themselves. Today, the production technology is still based around this first machine. However, with 6 axis robot assisted filmant laying (RAFL) the latest products developments include composite automation actuators for 7,8 and 9 axis capability.

Through this period CompoTech has established itself as a respected designer and innovator of composites parts. With a niche expertise in machine and automation composite components. As well as projects across a range of industry sectors.  Today company is still under ownership of the founders employing up to 60 people.  Of that 20 people in design and development continue the strong tradition of RnD.

Ondrej Uher, founding member and Director of RnD, notes he is “extremely proud of the company achievements over the years. From Americas cup head foils to Agricultural spray booms the company keeps pushing the development from the design of process to the finished structure. This allows us to keep it exciting for the team. This year more than any other we are seeing new and interesting ideas and research that will help to make another 25 years pass as successfully as the first.”
